Google Chrome

I can be a bit cynical at times and I admit I had my cynicism all primed and ready to go as I downloaded Google Chrome and installed it on my laptop.  I decided to give it a quick 5 minute test, find something wrong with it, then come on here and give it a sarcastic blast and get on with my day.

To my mild disappointment it works great!  It loads Technet pages faster than IE7, and when it detected that I needed Flash to view the Youtube video in one of my blog posts it installed it and restarted just that one browser tab faster than I could blink.

Download Google Chrome and try it yourself.

    You a cynic? Never!

Google Chrome is good and fast. It did a great job of importing my Firefox saved passwords, history and bookmarks as well. I’m not quite ready to give up FF for it yet though - at least until version 1.0.

Makes it hard. Chrome might do the trick for my work laptop as long as I don’t hit anything that IE7 does better (haven’t tried Chrome on a SharePoint site for example).

For home I’m pretty attached to Firefox with a few key plugins and extensions, but have been leaning towards Flock as well for its better social networking/media integration.
